Injection #7

Number 7 went ok and although i've been a bit 'achey' since, the flu sides haven't really materialised yet. I had an appointment to see the psychiatrist at the infectious diseases unit on monday but since I always try to keep monday and tuesday clear of any plans, I forgot... oops. I rang them this morning and another appointment has been made for me next week. I went to the hospital today to pick up more 'meds' since I had to discard an injection last week. My nurse decided just to do my bloods this week instead of next to save me going back. Next app is not till june now so I can in way 'just get on with it', for a few weeks at least.

Hi Alan,
I ordered 2 diaries at work last academic year. At the time my boss pulled a face and said "What do you need 2 diaries for". I just shrugged it off.
Of course I need 2 diaries I'm now leading a double life. My other diary has all of my appointments, injection days marked with the injection number, hospital, massage, TCM and other appointments marked into it. Any side effects (so I can report them to my Nurse). I also mark in the days when I need to take pain meds and how I am feeling generally. I keep my hospital card, blood test results and contact details for all of my appointments in the back of the second diary (I had a moment of panic early on in treatment when I couldnt find the contact details for Michelle (reflexologist) and this threw me into a downward spiral). This seems to work OK, when you cant rely on your memory you have to have a backup.
Stay well

Hi Wendy,

I think I need to do something similiar, i'll get a diary tomorrow. My memory has always been fairly good so it's a bit of a pain forgetting things. I'm glad to say they were very understanding when I phoned the hospital, just need to keep in the 'good books' from now on.

Stay well

Alan

Hi Alan
Yep I have a calendar on the kitchen wall that I depend on! Apart from never knowing what day it is I can't be relied on to remember much these days without prompting!
