Sore and Fed Up
Although no real flu 'sides' appeared this week, my back has been really painful the past few days. Starting on my lower right side it then traveled to both hips and my neck and shoulders. I've tried drinking tonic water and taking paracetmol but it doesn't help for long, only giving me relief for an hour or so. This has left me tired and work was hard going tonight. Even sitting still is painful and i'm starting to realise that i've not had any periods of more than a day where I could say I felt good since I started treatment. I'm not at the point of thinking I cant go on, I'm fully committed now but I do have days where this is very hard. I don't think work makes me feel any worse than I would if I was at home so i'll stick with 3 shifts a week for now at least. I've been reminding myself all week that on sunday i'll do injection #8, making me a third of the way through treatment. It's been a long week and I think that's more to do with the pain than the the fact i'm reaching another 'milestone' (or millstone?) on sunday. I got some co-codamol earlier this evening so hopefully i'll sleep better tonight.

Milestone or millstone. That made me smile. Yes, sleep is really important on tx so I do hope you are able to get some good pain management.
Thanks for your encouragement during my recent tough time.
Paul.
Hi Alan,
Have you tried massage for the back pain? I have Shiatsu every week or so and find it really helps how things are going physically and mentally. Ditto for yoga - I believe it makes a huge difference.
Congratulations on T point tomorrow.
Sue
Hi Alan,
I can totally relate to how you are feeling, the pain completely colours the way you feel and makes life very difficult. I am still trying to find ways of managing the pain but for the time being must resort to medication to see me through for the short term. My masseur has given me some stretches to do for my specific hip problem. Is your pain general (lower back + hips) or located at a point of previous injury?
Wendy
Hi all,
I've been looking around for someone who practises Shiatsu in my area and found a clinic not far from me so i'll treat myself maybe next week.
Wendy, no previous injuries just generally lower back and hips. I've found co-codamol helps and i'm sleeping a bit better now thankfully, but the pain is still lingering.
Stay well
Alan
Alan,
I just realised, that when I was at about the same stage (weeks 7 - 8), I felt really rough for a couple of weeks, (I was off work for 4 weeks). There was some suggestion that the drugs build up in your system and reach their peak at about week 7 - 8. It took me a couple of weeks to recover/adjust but now I have reached a plateau and feel better. I hope you recover/adjust soon.
Wendy
